We get it. We all like quicker, better, nicer, but big changes always seem to come when we just don't have time to stop and learn something new. So, we made sure that for each type of user – everyone from non-technical report viewers to deep dive power-analysts – it's easy to do the things you do today, and you can take your time to learn and apply the advancements Enlight has to offer. My journey to Enlight
We want your transition to Enlight to be smooth and exciting. To us, this means taking time for some thoughtful planning, and options that consider what an analytics platform change means to an organization. Read about key areas our Customer Experience team is thinking about and working with your organization to plan for.
What are the things you might think about as you consider the right time to move to Enlight from Analytics View? It's clearly a winning move – you will have the content and functionality available to you today, plus all that Enlight offers and where it will take you.

What should you think about as you determine the right timing? Considerations:
Learning to navigate and use Enlight is intentionally minimized by a design that leverages familiar DART concepts. If you have a small number of skilled analytic users, between our training resources and perhaps some meetings with your Customer Experience team members, you should be ready to go. If you have a very large user base of infrequent business users who typically perform a few key activities like report viewing, let's work through a rollout plan that is best timed for your annual business cycles and their training needs.
All your existing data, reports, and analytic content will be available in Enlight through fully supported legacy structures. Legacy content may be edited and maintained in Enlight. The future, however, is focused on a new integrated data model only available in Enlight. This combination allows each customer to seamlessly transition to Enlight and explore, test, and adopt the new model at their own pace. Some features will only be available using data from the new data structures.
Think about your emerging analytic needs. If you have new reports you plan to build, why not build them directly into Enlight? You will be able to take full advantage of new Enlight features including flexible time definition and pre-integrated data which simplifies report development activities.
Future enhancements will be implemented in the Enlight platform. Moving to Enlight puts you on a path to having the latest and greatest capabilities from HDMS.
Some clients wish to move to Enlight but limit the availability of new features to existing users. Our security and user permissions model can suppress access to new Enlight functionality. This is an additional option we created based on special needs for clients who:
- must consider large scale user training
- have special data considerations before using the new Enlight data structures
- have custom requirements that require additional development before using Enlight features
How does your company react to change? Some companies are resistant to or skeptical of new products. Be realistic about what will feel comfortable and exciting for your company. The move should be a positive experience, and if the team needs longer to adjust to the idea of change, factor that into your transition plan timing.
For organizations currently using Presentation View, moving directly to Enlight is a great option for your organization. You will have all your DART legacy content available to you plus the enhanced user interface. You can immediately use new Enlight features like Alerts, and take your time learning other new Enlight features like the Analytic Pathways.
That said, there are several options to consider if you are still using Presentation View. Presentation View will no longer function after December 2020.

Presentation View and Analytics View are two slightly different user experiences for DART. Both exist because our client base was divided on their preferences so we’ve supported both.
With the de-support of Adobe Flash technology, Presentation View users may immediately start using Analytics View as one remediation option. This de-risks further changes necessary in 2020. Training resources are available for clients. The transition from Analytics View to Enlight can then be made without year-end pressure.
If change needs to happen, why wait? Many customers currently using Presentation View are eager to transition once and only once and enjoy all that Enlight can offer. If reducing the number of product transitions is highly appealing, then work through a detailed transition approach with your Customer Experience team. They will walk you through a planning process, so you understand data source implications, new features expectations, data reconciliation testing, user training timing and craft a project plan for any new content to build in Enlight.
To reveal Enlight new features more slowly: You need to move off Presentation View, you have a lot of users to train, you’d like to use the transition to re-develop some painful reports using Enlight new features, and time is not on your side. What can you do? Transition to the Enlight foundation, and keep users focused on legacy content in a slightly changed UI.
The HDMS security and user permissions model can suppress access to new Enlight functionality, eliminating awareness of new Enlight data structures and all the features that use them. This resolves your Presentation View time risks, puts you on the new technology platform and limits change exposure to the user base. Once you are settled, a small team can learn and use Enlight, develop new content, and evenbuild in-house best practices or training materials to help educate the broader user base not only on Enlight, but on your wonderful new analytic content and capabilities. You set the pace, we’re here to help.
The Enlight foundation option lets clients transition off DART with minimal user training, a consideration for clients like Health Plans who serve very large and varied user bases. This relieves the challenges posed by timing intricacies and lets clients identify the best window of opportunity for change management. All legacy DART content is available in Enlight in familiar navigation flows. Legacy DART content can be modified and maintained as it is in DART today. New features like Alerts may be generated on legacy DART content for immediate value. As clients are ready, new data structures and new features may be enabled that provide additional benefit.
